Adverse Events Report: University of Toronto

Read the following student-generated report on adverse events which have occurred as a result of the University of Toronto’s institutional practices. The report is based on data gathered in November 2020 and was published in September 2022.

All I wish is that I had known where to go for help.
— Jenna* is a low-income student who identifies as a cis-gendered woman. She was in her first year of studies in 2020.
I waited a month for a consultation with a psychology grad student. In that meeting I told them I was having constant suicidal thoughts. It then took 4 months to get an appointment with a psychologist, and not a single check in was made over those 4 months.
— Daniel* is a low-income student who identifies as a gay, cis-gendered man. He graduated from UT in 2020.
I was forced to take a midterm three days after a major operation, while under the influence of morphine, and if I didn’t, my only alternative was to accept a 0 on an exam worth 25% of my grade.
— Bella* identifies as a cis-gendered woman and was a first-year student in 2020.
